Oven salsifies

It looks like I’m the only vegan/vegetarian blogger who talks about salsifies.  When I was cruising the internet in search of a good recipe, I used the Veg Blog Search.  But, haha, so funny, found only my own blog back in the results.

Oh well, I made this:

  1. 5 salsifies
  2. salt, 2 tbsp vinegar, 1 tbsp flour
  3. 2.5 dl soycream
  4. 1 tbsp chickpeaflour
  5. 2 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes
  6. 1 tbsp soy-sauce (salt)
  7. 1 tsp grated lemonzest
  8. 1 tbsp oil
  9. salt & pepper
  1.  Peel the salsifies and cut them in pieces 2 to 3 cm’s long
  2. Stir 1 tbsp vinegar and the flour in cold water, put the salsifies in here.  It prevents them from getting an ugly colour.
  3. Boil the salsifies in water with salt and 1 tbsp vinegar.
  4. Mix all the other ingredients and whip a little bit.
  5. Put the salsifies in a ovenproof dish and pour over  the soy-cream mix.
  6. Put in the oven, somewhere in the top, for 5 to 10 min, at 200°C.
