When the cold arrives, it’s time for some soup

Here are two examples of heartwarming soups:

Gnocchi in broccoli-tomato soup

Gnocchi in broccoli-tomato soup

Heat some oil in a big pan and fry 1 onion and 2 garlic cloves in it.

Add broccoliflowers (from 1 head).  Stir.

Then add 2 cubed, softboiling potatoes (you know the kind you use for making mashed potatoes).

Let it boil till the potatoes are soft. 

Mix the whole thing and add some passata (3 to 4 dl).

In a seperate pan you have boiled the gnocchi.  When they are ready, add them to the soup.

Oops, don’t forget your spices: salt, pepper and I always add some paprikapowder in the beginning at the same time as the potatoes.

I like it that this soup doesn’t need a vegetable broth.

Vegetable pasta soup

Heat some oil in a big pan and fry 1 onion, 1 red pepper and 3 garlic cloves (of course they are all sliced to very small pieces).  Add 1 cubed big potato.  And small pieces of 1/2 zucchini.

Stir in 2 tbsp flour.  Then add slowly 6 dl soy-milk and 3 dl vegetable broth.

Add someting like 50 g of broccoliflowers.  Bring it to a boil while you’re stirring. And let it boil softly for about 20 min.

Add some leftover macaroni.  (I used the one from Macaroni & steamed broccoli mixed with punk rock chickpea gravy)

Stir in some nutritional yeast flakes.

Time to spice up with some salt & pepper.


  1. Both recipes look really good. I will have to replace the pasta and gnocchi as I cannot have anything with flour in it, but I am sure that part will be easy enough.

    Love your blog’s banner. I have a tiny zipper pull by the same company. tofu guy is crying because a piece of his head fell off. wish I had bought all of the variations (poison tofu, strawberry tofu, etc).
